Gilboa Merdinger, CEO, attended New York University’s Stern School of Business., After graduation. Gilboa began his financial planning career in New York City. While using mainstream financial planning techniques, he realized his clients had often amassed a sizable net worth by the time they needed to pay for their children to go to college, however, there was not much left for their own retirement years. Gil was left perplexed as what the right course of action was for his clients.

Benjamin Grossman, President, attended Touro College. After finishing his degree he began working in Midtown Manhattan for a large financial planning firm. Using the firm’s standard financial planning tools, Benjamin thought he was enabling parents the financial base to pay for there children’s higher education. During this same time period, he volunteered as Chairman of the Financial Aid Committee at a small post graduate non-profit school in Fresh Meadows, NY. After speaking with many of the parents that had gone through the Financial Aid process, he realized that although many of them were making large salaries, the cost of paying for just one of their children to attend college left them with very little for their own future. He noticed that prior to paying for college, the parents had significant assets, but by the middle of the college years significant debt was held by both the parents and the students. Very little of their original assets were left.

Robert Torres, Director of Operations, earned his Associate in Customer Service Certification through the Life Office Management Association, Inc. With 20 years of professional customer service and operations experience Robert has successfully managed several large financial planning organizations in NYC and has been the recipient of several leadership awards. It is known that Robert provides each client with outstanding service. Helping them feel even more comfortable going through the “College Process”. And, having put two children through college, Robert is uniquely qualified to be the guide to those just sending there first child off to school.

These experiences convinced Ben and Gil that they must re-invent the wheel. They began to explore new methods of financial planning.

The G&M Group was founded on two main principles: Helping families get all their children through college without going broke; and the parents should still have enough money left to pay for their senior years.
